For those who want to know..THE TRIP WAS AWESOME

Hey Guys.. as you know, In April, Daniel and I took off for the OPEN ROAD in a Ford F150 pickup filled with 3 suitcases, a case of water and some hard cold CASH!!!
We made it without incident to the Michigan border where by Nature, the border guard decided to be a DICK..just his nature.. Dan got out of the truck and was told to open the lid – Usually reserved for Coming Back IN to a country.. he was screamed at to get his hands OUT of his Pockets.. ( it was cold) and asked .. HOW MUCH MONEY do you guys have.. Apparently we gave him the "right’ answer because we were let go and proceeded on our merry way.
We b-lined it for New Mexico and were there in two days.
The first thing I noticed about New Mexico is that it isn’t flat.. I saw my first glimpse of Antelopes and the land goes on for ever and ever…Dry looking soil was relieved by tumbleweeds and SNOW!! Yes I said snow.. in 20C weather, snow lined the side of the roads and the mountain peaks. I LOVED TAOS and was totally embraced there by the locals. I met a wonderful artist Doug Scott and was promptly invited to his home. What LOVELY people he and his wife are. Like everything I saw in Taos, they lived on the side of a mountain, wild and totally immersed in natured. THINK Aging Hippys and new blood.. you have Taos pegged..smile.
Taos has a Pueblo Village that has been untouched by time and the Indians still live there without running water, hydro etc. It was dusty, sandy and windy the day we went to visit, also cold. We couldn’t beleive that we were snowed on in New Mexico…smile, however it didn’t dim the brightness us this great little villiage. If you want to move there, contact Lois Fernandez at Enchanted Dreams Foundation.. She is a wonderful hostess, real estate agent, Artist and human rights activist.. Thank you Lois for all your generosity.
Ps. Sculpture by Doug Scott.. sisters in the wind
If you like ART, ARTISTS and GALLERY’s, Skiing and Music, then you will lOVE TAOS… next.. SANTA FE…
