Mitakuye Oyasin – We are All Related

The Lakota have a saying- Mitakuye Oyasin- literally means, We are all Related or "All are my relations". So not only are we all connected, but we are all related as in Family. All of us, people, animals, and all of nature.
Right now, our family is suffering a terrible tragedy in the Gulf of Mexico- Today, animals are dying, plants are dying and tomorrow it will be our children and grandchildren who are dying. Your's , mine, does it matter? We are one family remember this, what hurts you, hurts me.
